EXP: The Marist Gaming Experience – Episode 1

A group of peers and I have started a new show for our college television station, MCTV HD. It’s called EXP: The Marist Gaming Experience — an Entertainment show incorporating video game reviews, nerdy parodies, and more. Its content of geek culture & gaming and its style of pixel animations & motion graphics brings something new to the station that connects to students like ourselves, and it’s been an absolute blast working on this project.

While I was originally recruited as the show co-host, I ended up additionally as Chief Editor to help make the directors’ visions come alive — they have sensational ideas. It’s been such a pleasurable experience working so closely with this team (despite late night shoots and editing all-nighters), and we’re so excited for all the creative ideas and legit content (like interviews from New York Comic Con!) that will be introduced in our next episode. This project has become a massive undertaking between the planning, writing and post-production editing, but we’re learning a ton and having fun along the way 🙂

In this first episode, we’re just getting acquainted with the camera, professional studio shoot process, and our post-production capabilities. (Hence why we can’t wait for our next episode!) This episode includes a Gangnam Syle parody, reviews of Borderlands 2, Guild Wars 2 and Torchlight 2, news in geek culture, previews of upcoming games, and more. Enjoy!
